On July 11, 2024, The Star School celebrated World Population Day, emphasizing the importance of population control, sustainable development, and the need for a balance between resources and population growth. The event aimed to instill awareness among students about the global challenges posed by overpopulation and inspire them to become responsible global citizens.
The day commenced with a special assembly, where students shared thought-provoking facts, quotes, and statistics on population trends and their implications. A short skit performed by Grade 9 students highlighted the effects of overpopulation on the environment, health, and education, leaving the audience with a strong message about sustainable living.
An engaging poster-making competition on the theme “Future on a Crowded Planet” allowed students from various grades to showcase their creativity while spreading awareness. The colorful and meaningful posters reflected their understanding of critical issues such as resource scarcity, urbanization, and climate change.
To deepen understanding, a guest lecture by a local environmentalist focused on the importance of family planning and resource conservation. The session was interactive, with students enthusiastically participating in the Q&A segment.
The celebration concluded with a pledge led by the school principal, emphasizing individual responsibility in shaping a sustainable future. Students pledged to make informed decisions, conserve resources, and spread awareness in their communities.
Through these activities, The Star School reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing responsible, aware, and proactive young minds for a better tomorrow.
